Kiri Wai Inner Skin
UK 2009 / 64min
Director Bruce Giglio
Producer Bernard Giglio.
Kiri Wai, Inner Skin is the story of Bruce, a young European-American who undertakes a journey to the South Pacific. He is on an identity quest that began in his adolescence when Inia Taylor (Maori tattoo artist, sculptor, and makeup artist for “Once Were Warriors”) began a moko on Bruce’s skin. Over the course of his quest, Bruce seeks answers to questions about the moko. In the process, he delves into Maori culture and the moko’s place in other cultures. Is the art tattooed on Bruce’s skin a reflection of his identity? Does the moko reveal his deeper nature and artistic identity? Or is he being cheated? Is a Westerner with a Moko living in a fool’s paradise, believing an artist’s explanation of a tattoo without ever reaching his own understanding of the symbols marking him for life?

Hello everybody
I like this idea to bring unknown knowledge into the world. And I want to introduce to you this exhibition about 1001 inventions of the muslim world. We call the middleage the dark ages, cause we learned so. But there is much more in this part of history and this will be shown by the Muslim Heritage Exhibition – Science Museum – South Kensington, London.
See the BBC tv report.
LG… Armin
This video gives a brief introduction to the exhibition's current residency. 1001 Inventions will be at the Science Museum in London from 21st January to 25th April 2010 (with a short closure from 25th Feb to 12th March). See it now before it goes on it's global voyage to major cities around the world!

Buch & Regie: Patrick Banush
Cast
Hendrik von Bültzingslöwen, Isaak Dentler, Stephanie Stremler, Julia Becker
Madeleine Lierck-Wien, Sivia Ocougne, Rolf Zacher, Samuel Finzi u.v.a.
